The DRY CRACKED SKIN SYSTEM is designed to help seal the skin against water loss and support repair of a damaged skin barrier. The inflammatory response triggered by dry, damaged skin is moderated by the proprietary ingredients in LORENOL® I and II, which have shown significant improvement in restoring the skin’s protective barrier. This dual effect helps break the cracked skin–skin-inflammation cycle and allows the skin to recover more rapidly, revealing a healthier, more normal appearance.

When the skin loses water, an inflammatory response is triggered, leading to dry, cracked, itchy skin and contact dermatitis that can cause further damage. Dermatitis—whether from a dry climate, allergens, or chemical irritants—can severely compromise the skin’s protective barrier, which is often painful, particularly on the lower extremities. This condition can worsen if the barrier is not restored promptly.
 
Applying skincare products that seal and support the protective barrier helps healing begin more quickly. However, many ‘barrier repair’ products are greasy, messy, and leave a heavy film. For example, petrolatum‑based products can seal against water loss but are often extremely greasy and counter‑productive, especially on the hands and feet.
