Inflammation and Natural Anti-Inflammatories

Extensive studies over the years have shown the most common skin disease in dermatology today is inflammation. It presents itself in many forms such as skin redness and rashes to more chronic conditions which include psoriasis, rosacea, atopic and seborrheic dermatitis as well as acne. These skin conditions effect over 70 million people a year and drive people of all ages worldwide to spend billions of dollars to find a solution. Unfortunately, inflammation can persist over time in acute or chronic forms.

This type of skin inflammation is typically characterized by swelling, redness, itching, heat, pain or damage to the skin’s structure. Acute inflammation quite often can progress to more chronic conditions over a period of time leaving skin dry, tight and damaged.

It is important to note; acute inflammation can be the result of exposure to UV radiation (UVR), ionizing radiation, allergens, or to direct contact with chemical irritants (dyes, soaps, etc.). Once the triggering stimulus is eliminated, this type of inflammation will typically resolve itself within a few weeks without tissue destruction. Many autoimmune-based conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, rosacea or psoriasis can last a lifetime and can cause considerable damage to skin.

While researching the cellular and biochemical events which can occur in the skin during an inflammatory response whether due to external stimuli (allergens, chemicals, sun exposure, etc.),  it was discovered that LORENOL had the ability to interrupt one or more steps in the inflammation process including triple anti-irritant efficacy, which has shown to be an effective inhibitor of:

IL-1α, TNF α, COX-2 & PGE2 visibly reducing redness, rashes, blotchiness and protecting the skin from daily aggressors that can cause signs of premature aging.
